ABOUT US

Hello, and welcome to LENNOX HEAD VETERINARY CLINIC!

LHVC was originally established in 2001, and Dr Evan Kosack took it over as sole owner in 2008. Evan has worked as a vet in the Ballina Shire since 1990, first in mixed practice and since opening LHVC as a solely small animal, bird and exotic species practitioner.

After growing up on Sydney's northern beaches and managing never to learn to surf, Evan graduated from Sydney University in 1983. Prior to moving to the Northern Rivers he worked for several eventful years in mixed and small animal practice in the UK. Upon returning to Australia he put himself about a bit, doing locums in mixed practice throughout regional NSW and the greater Sydney district, including several years at the Bondi Junction Vet Hospital of television's 'Bondi Vet' fame. Evan is still waiting for the producers knock at the door.... He moved from Sydney to the Northern Rivers with his family in 1990 and although loving the life of a Lennox Head Vet, he still remains mysteriously free of any surfing skills.

The LENNOX HEAD VET CLINIC prides itself in offering quality, comprehensive and reliable veterinary care for its clients pets, in all their varied furry, scaly and feathered forms. It's important to us that people feel relaxed at the clinic, and have confidence that the staff are committed to provide a great service with genuine concern for their pets welfare and comfort. We encourage clients to drop in or phone to chat with the staff about any concerns or enquiries they may have or pet information we may be able to provide. We're happy to offer tips and pointers for anyone that has a few questions about their pet's health, animal welfare issues or wildlife queries....so feel free to give us a call!

OUR CLINIC

Veterinary Staff — Lennox Head Vet Clinic in Lennox Head, NSW

LHVC is a sole practitioner clinic, which means on any given day you and your pet will be seeing Evan for appointments. On the occasions where Evan is attending conferences or (gasp) on holidays, we have a team of wonderful locum vets that are available. The vets are assisted brilliantly by a team of fully trained veterinary nurses, all devoted pet owners, who not only provide skilled, compassionate support for clients, pets and visiting staff, but heroically manage to put up with even the most tragic of Evan's jokes and tall tales.

LHVC is a modern, well equipped clinic; small but perfectly formed, as they say! We are licensed to perform all small animal surgeries on-premises and have a well equipped theatre with up-to-date surgical, anaesthetic and monitoring facilities. We also have comprehensive digital x-ray and intensive care facilities, separate cat and dog hospital premises, in-house pathology, biochemistry and specialised diagnostics, as well as access to some impressive specialist referral services just a short trip up the road.

In addition to providing fine medical and surgical care for dogs and cats, the LHVC is well known around the country for providing quality veterinary service to pet reptiles, birds, rabbits, rodents, ferrets and exotic species of all shapes, sizes and dispositions.

We also provide pro-bono care and advice to all of the local wildlife carer groups, as well as the National Parks Service, Australian Seabird Rescue and local wildlife parks.

The clinic is open 6 days a week, excluding public holidays. LHVC offers a 24-hour EMERGENCY SERVICE roster all year round, and if Evan is not able to personally attend every emergency, the after-hours duties are shared with other local veterinary clinics, as well as utilising specialist emergency clinics on the Gold Coast and Billinudgel when necessary. Details of after-hours services and rosters are found on the answering machine message as required.
Consultations are by appointment, and even if your pet requires immediate care you should call ahead to make sure we are prepared for your pet as soon as you arrive. Generally it is best to make an appointment several days in advance as we tend to book out rapidly and we hate to inconvenience our clients. If you have mobility issues we can arrange local home pickups and returns as well, again as long as we get adequate warning.

We look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets! Give us a call on (02) 6687 5123, or drop in to 5/48 Ballina Street, Lennox Head for more details and to meet the staff!

Cheers!
